Beowulf

I think that Beowulf was a good story, as far as anything you get assigned to read goes.  Its graphic if you think about it, but a lot is left up to the imagination.  I thinks it hard to understand, because after reading over a section one time, I feel like I didn’t understand the whole thing and I need to read it again.

Some strategies include re-reading the section, taking down notes about how the people are all related or know eachother.  There are so many characters I feel like its difficult to keep them straight.

Superhero

My favorite superhero would be Batman.  I have liked him since I was a kid.  Batman doesn’t have superpowers, but he can still fight the bad guys and win.  He can’t fly through the air or lift cars off of babies, but he does have the bat-mobile, the bat-copter and the bat-motorcycle.  He has technology on his side.

To me, a hero is a person who shows courage and selflessness in times of danger.  They are the people who help the helpless, and rescues people from distress.  If you save a kitten from a stormdrain in a thunderstorm, you are a hero.  If you stand up for someone whos getting picked on, you are a hero.

Leadership Qualities

A good leader is a person who is good at getting people to work together in teams.  They know how to delegate tasks fairly, and accomplish things on task.  They are a figure of respect, and they can stand out for positive things.  Good leaders are also good communicators, good partners, and good friends.

One example of a good leader would be my mom.  She works as an RN, where she is in charge of  many patients at a time.  Sometimes she works as a floor supervisor.  As a supervisor she’s in charge of all of the other nurses and making sure everyone is well cared for.  She has to make sure the right people get the right medicine and get the right care.  She has to stay calm in times of crisis.  Also, she looks for places where she can help out others.  If she has down time, instead of taking a break, she helps out another nurse who is overloaded.
